While I do agree with the personalization factor, the poll is about value. I don't think the majority of mods to the Focus are worth their price.

It's worth it if it makes one appreciate his/her car more. My mods are relatively small...I'm addressing the suspension clunk TSB on my own because the dealer can not reproduce the problem; Steeda rear sway bar, rear diffuser, eFocus RMM, eFocus LED taillights, and a DCT tune from Injected Engineering when it moves out of beta.

Again, if it makes me love the car more, it's a win!

What about the model or trim line? ^^^^^^^^^^^

Not worth it unless you plan on keeping the car until it dies. otherwise you will not only never make back the money you spent on the mods but you will actually decrease the value of the car when you go to sell/trade it (Unless you can find another fanatic). Bolt on applications might be ok, since they can be removed.

I know one thing, I would never buy a modded car.

I think the answer is in the actions....if you mod, its worth it, if not, its not.

It is NOT financially worth it, and anyone who thinks it is is foolish. If you spend a few hundred and expect to win all sorts of shows and national acclaim and sponsors, you're nuts. If you spend several thousand and expect to see a dollar of it back when you sell (provided you don't part out), you're also nuts.

So in that sense, it's absolutely not worth it.

For me, it's a hobby and I enjoy spending time on the car and making it mine. When I have extra money lying around, I spend it on the car because it makes me happy, and I don't really have anything else to throw my money at. It gives me something to do that I have fun with, and it makes my car feel special, to me. So for me personally, I think it's worth it.

this is exactly how I feel, so many people where I live (Carroll County) have a focus so I like to make mine stand out. I love working on my car and I do everything myself, screw overpaying a mechanic to do it all for you.

Life is all about compremises. Say you have a '06 focus & you upgrade the front brakes w/ the svt kit. You stop quicker & don't rear end the guy in front of you. Or you could rear end the guy ahead of you on your oem brakes & have more issues. So is that mod worth it? You could just run the cheaper tires vs 40.00 a piece more tires. Is a tire mod worth it? So you replace your oem make of tires to a better brand,= your modifing the factory designed tires. You could say the same w/ aftermarket brake pads/rotors or anything else. So ya, your modifing your car w/ aftermarket parts, whether you know it or not. Is it worth it? You could ask, How much is your time worth?
