to me i think its worth it to see people giving you compliments is the best feeling ever even more so when you did the mods yourself it feels great that the car came out the way you wanted it to.

Yes, it's worth it, because the process is almost as important as the outcome.

Ofcourse it's worth it, otherwise, you wouldn't be modding it, right? If you think it's a waste of time and money, then don't do it. Nobody's forcing you anyway.

Personally, my SVTF is my first car. For real. And I plan to keep her for as long as I'm alive. My SVT will always be my baby. I'm building her as a luxury sports car, and not a race car. She was made for the street and light track use, and I will keep it like that. The excitement and fun that I get from driving her is just priceless. This is passion, and nobody should expect to make money out of it. Because, chances are, you're not going to make any. Don't be stupid on mods. If you are not keeping the car for a long, long time, then I suggest to keep the mods at the low end.

I say if its your hobby and you enjoy it than its definitely worth it, but if you do things to impress people or to fit in, then maybe you should think again.

As long as its done within someone's budget. Being able to work on your own car is very important if you want to save $90 an hour. But modding to the point of putting yourself paycheck to paycheck, then not worth it.

Financially it's obviously not worth it; but from the fun I've had installing parts with friends paid in beer or finally having a car to talk shop with my dad over, it's been well worth it.

It really depends on how you look at it. I like to make my car my own with minor mods, but I usually don't change anything to effect reliability.
