Do you think 'Car Modding' is worth it?

It's worth it if it helps keep you enjoying your vehicle.

However when I got rid of my truck for my Focus I couldn't help but realize the money that I dumped into my truck that I'd never get back.

15" Alcoa's with 31" BFG, Magnaflow stainless Catback, K&N FIPK2, Tint, Stainless Nerf Bars, Custom aftermarket headlights and Euro tails, Ventshades, Sprayed in bedliner with top sides around bed sprayed as well.

That's almost $1,200 just in tires not counting the rims, plus the cost of everything else.

The worst part is that the dealership is right down the street from my house and I get a constant reminder of the money I wasted everytime I drive by it.

I do have to admit that I enjoyed the truck much more eveytime I added a new part though, so I guess in the end it was worth it to me...........but financially it wasn't the greatest decision.

Ive always felt your vehicle was a reflection of yourself. If you leave your car stock or just do a basic mod, your making your car just like every other sheep in the herd. Stock looking cars are boring, and they usually show that the owner is a boring person. Its the people that make their cars the "wolves" that are really expressing who they are. I've never left a car stock for more than a day, my car is my canvas, and I am the artist.

Some people buy a car and have it just as pure transportation. In my opinion, that is stupidly wrong. I believe in personalizing a ride, making it different, but not crazy different. I have had over 80 vehicles, and all of them were changed almost right away. I would rather spend money on my vehicles than on stuff like sports, and liquor. A car is something you can use every day and once you mod it is stays modded until you decide to change it. Sports, once u play it or watch it, it's gone. liquor, once you drink it , it's gone.

I'm starting to really get into the whole modding thing with my Focus. I just recently got my windows tinted (haven't posted pics, yet), I have new 6x8 speakers and euro clear side markers on the way. Definately worth it.

not to be a d1ck but their are much much better platforms to start off with
if someone has that much money and really loves these cars then alright... but i don't see much gains

yes cuase its fun and gives you somethin to do and be proud of, not worth it when it comes time to get a new car or if you wreck the work you have done....

Its worth it to me, but when you trade it in no. I like to drive a unique vehicle different from the "norm" but dealers seem to frown on heavily modded vehicles on trade in.

It is worth it if you like to drive and/or feel that your car is an extension of your personality.

not unless you have lots of money to blow and lose. You won't get near what you put into it in most cases. And it just means you have to worry about your car being stolen that much more.
