right now its not really worth it.
im off to college soon and the lastthing i need is a money pit. right now all i have for my car is a tune. im getting a itg panel filter and a mbrp catback. i dont make much and i do what i can. ill probably just do all the bolt ons, turbos and superchargers arent worth it for me. i dont have 5k to drop into my car and if i had 5k id save it for college. right now serious modding isnt worth it but bolt ons are :]

i think it doesn't worth it because even if you try to sell things back you will never get the money you could have spend on it and if you sell it complete you probably won't get the half of what you put it all on
the point that makes it worth a lil is take you get a more pleasant ride and you improve things on it you tune it the way you want it tuned that makes it cool. Personnaly i hate to help my father throughout summer and greasing my hands on clients cars, but on my car or a friend's car to modify it i like that but common mechanic is boring In resume it has it's positive and negative point but i tend a lil more negative anyway people have the habits to say im negative so

this is also a helping site where people can ask general car questions and concerns.
im all for modding, its like a crack addiction without the itch. once you start you cant stop, it'll make you go broke.

I voted yes, it's worth it...life costs money. You end up spending it on one thing or another, so why not spend it on something fun? And if you put the "mods" on yourself, that's even more fun...the results are usually pretty cool--some mods even customize your car AND increase its performance. People like to be unique, and "modding" makes a car unique.
Yes, it can take away from the life of a car, which can make you feel really stupid, but people get sick of their cars over time anyway. Haha but sometimes I think it WOULD be cool to keep a car as long as possible. Hopefully my girlfriend will keep my Focus for a long time so I can post about how it's still going . Anyway...I can see both sides, but I don't think I'm gonna stop modding until I absolutely have to...though I'm gonna get a real good feel for my SVTF in stock form and pay off all my bills before I put a mod penny into that car . That'll be my motivation haha.

Voted yes. Modding is not only something I enjoy but I also value that as a learning experience. I enjoy working through estimates, designing, and coming up with the most cost effective solution. That said, my mods don't include HP or engine tuning or a lot of body work, however, I do enjoy learning how to make my car mine. You will never get what you spent on your investment; it's a car and cars drop value like a stone dropped in Lake Michigan.

Of course its a site for helping!! Thats how this all started. Ha Ha Ha. I really am amazed at all the different ways we make our cars our own by modding for comfort, show and or go. Proud owner of the discontinued ZX3!!!

Worth it in every way! For me it's either my car or mountain biking...close to being same price really...
Frame.....$1600 Wheels and tires......$600 Suspension......$1000 Other pieces.....$1200 and when something breaks it's always a couple of hundred bucks to fix. Expensive yes! But I end up spending all that on my car instead....or sometimes split. Something about doing a 360 in mid air keeps me coming back....If my SVT could do that i'd toss the bike. So it's like a hobby....it's something Gf or wife has limitted control over. |
