i vote yes. im addicted to this stuff and i just can't stand driving anything stock. my mom borrowed my car recently to go to a high school reunion and i was up here in town going through withdrawals. besides my fofo is right outsind my living room window (i swear it watches me, waiting until i grab the keys to go for a drive.)

Personally I think it depends. What kind of car and what kind of mods. A bunch of performance mods on a Focus? Definitely not worth it. Maybe a few or some styling mods would be nice. Performance mods on a muscle car? You bet.

It gives it more rarity, for aftermarket parts.

I dont think 4 cylinder cars are worth modding in general. Requires too much money and personally I can get the same satisfaction of a modded car by playing a PS3 racing game in HD, but without the expense and labor.

Epic Thread Resurrection Maneuver, go!
I think purposeful modification is worth it. I daily drive and autocross the SVT - so spending money on good wheels, the right tires, the right brakes, speedbleeders and things like that are worth it to me. If I choose to skip classes, it'll be worth while for me to change my springs and dampers to something much more aggressive, in addition to my sway bars. However, that said, I've un-modded almost everything the previous owner did. They were not purposeful mods, and they had stranded me in a class where I was not competitive. Throwing money at the car with reckless abandon seems like a waste of time to me, but goals are a good thing.

Gives it personality And seperates it from the REST of the economy car buyers! I bought mine cuz I wanted to! Not cuz it was all I could afford! Blazing Copper FTW

yes...
...and no From a purely financial standpoint it is not worth it. But it is fun to work on the car. I don't usually have extra cars to play with, so my mods are basic and don't take away from its streetability. If you're trying to sell the car then it's really not worth it. I won't even look at a heavily modded car when I'm in the market. |
