One thing to remember when changing a rear sway bar on a SVT, it starts out much better than the standard Focus. SVT made a 1mm change and it worked wonders for a SVT! So starting out in a much "better" situation (21mm), you make a small change.

A larger solid steel bar is more resistant to twisting forces than a smaller, thinner bar. It can be calculated....I will leave that to the engineers. You do not want to completely eliminate this twisting force, so you "tune it" by varying bar diameters.

I hope this helps.

Many SVT owners opt for the 22mm Progress rear bar , and I sell lots of them for the "standard" Focus as well.

I have plenty in stock if you are interested.

I got one of these from newedge just before my svt kit came, with both installed, the car courners sooo flat (and quicker) on the autocross track it's like a whole nother car. great price too, most everyone else wants 149.00 for this part!

question for you, i see progress also has an alignment kit, does this kit actually work because the other kit made by company 'x' had a bad rep of not working or breaking or causing lots of troubles.

I have the Progress kit in stock if you are interested.

The Progress kit is not as easy to adjust as the SPC kit.

I have the SPC kits in my car for over 2.5 years, I auto cross and do track days and drive it daily. I do not believe that the few instances that are widely publicized are representative of the group as a whole.

i installed the svt suspension on my zx3 - big improvement. and then i installed the progress rear sway bar - it made another huge difference. i went with the progress because it is designed/sized to work well with the OEM front sway - i believe the svt and the zx3 have the same sized front sway bar... the H/R setup has a larger front to work with the larger rear sway bar. if you are going to switch out the front it will require much more time and labor, but for an easy exchange of the rear, the progress is the way to go
