Thumbs up McNews + Magnaflow catback = Happy Camper!

So, I finally broke down and bought a catback. I was getting really tired of being the only guy at the meets with a stock exhaust.

I had a few extra bucks to spend, so on Monday I called up the fine folks at www.McNewsAutomotive.com , ordered the Magnaflow exhaust for my sedan and made an appointment to head up there on Wednesday for the install. When I got there, we discovered that the distributor had sent a kit for an SVT instead of the sedan. The guys gave me a bunch of options, gave me time to consider, and after I told them I'd like to stick with this one, they said they would make it work so that I didn't have to drive another three hours (round trip) next week. The back section had to be extended by about seven inches to make up for the difference in length of the sedan quarterpanels. I couldn't be more pleased with the results! Ray, Bobby, and Nick did a great job. I can't even say how long it took, since I was having such a great time talking to the guys, but I do know that I got there almost an hour late and I was still outta there by lunch time. Enough gushing, though, right? lol

I get out on the road and open 'er up . . . WOW! What a difference! I really love the Magnaflow sound; it has a nice deep note and yet still sounds louder when I accelerate hard. My little brother wants one for his ZX3 now, and I've already had two guys ask me what it was and where I got it done . . . all in the last day and a half!

This was my first experience with the guys at McNews, and it was great. They came HIGHLY recommended to me by a couple of folks, and I, in turn will strongly advise ANYONE looking for work to be done or parts to check them out! I know I'll be back when I have money for the ECU flash and the rest of my exhaust system.

So, let's recap.

McNews Automotive?
Magnaflow catback ?

Nice man I was looking at the magnaflow but went for the borla instead. Those things are nice though I heard.

I originally wanted the Borla, but after hearing the Magnaflow on several cars, I couldn't bring myself to spend the extra money. Magnaflow has just as good of reputation as Borla and the prices are generally a good bit lower. I'm definitely happy with it!

I just dropped in a focus sport header and a magnaflow catback, I opted to get a resonator added to it, I really really, REALLY hate the sound of 85% of the 4 cylinder cars out there.

It is very quiet. On the inside of the car, there is a bit mroe rumble to the idle. I have not heard it from the outside of the car, but, it won't piss off the neighbors.

I got my whole setup header and all for 300$ off a guy going turbo :D

Thanks guys!

Yeah, Scotty8, I got the SVT model so it has a resonator on it too. I agree with you that most four-bangers sound too "buzzy" but this sounds great to me! I plan on finishing off the exhaust later on with a header and flex-pipe, which I know will make it sound a bit louder and possibly more obnoxious, but we'll just have to see.
