Got my exhaust today

I probably won't be able to put it on for atleast a week though because the weather is terrible here.

Got the SVT Borla installed on my ZX3 today. The install of the Borla was pretty easy after my Dad and I got the bolt holes slotted probably 1/8" on each side towards the pipe. The hardest part is getting that stock system out. I only had ramps so if you can use jackstand on all four wheels, it will be much eaiser. Since the car was so low we couldn't get a Saws-All under the car so my dad had to use a grinder and went through about 4 cut-off wheels with all the cutting since we had to take the whole system out in 3 or 4 pieces since the car was so low. The flange bolts had to be cut off with the Saws-All since they were rusted terribly. Before you start, get a new flange gasket for between the flex pipe and the exhaust system. I have a tiny leak there now because the old gasket was already compressed so much from before it won't make a seal when it's cold. It was about a 4-hour install including going out trying to get a new gasket since AutoZone couldn't look up in their computer for the SVT or standard Zetec gasket and Advanced Auto didn't have the part. I had to bring the gasket back to AutoZone and they had nothing that matched it. Once you get the old one out, it goes pretty well. Just set aside enough time to get it done. Also, if you get the car up higher, the exhaust should come out of the rubber hangers MUCH easier since my Dad and I couldn't get really any leverage with the car so low. Good luck, the sound is AWESOME. The car pulls MUCH harder above 4k too. Really noticeable and a real throaty sound.

Does the Borla side exhaust for the SVT not work on the 04 SVT? I see it's for 00-03.

I don't think there was a SVT in 2000 so it might be a typo. I believe the SVT's were made from 02-04. That could be the standard Zetec side exit. Do you have a link?

The SVT exhaust should fit all SVTs, and yeah they were only made 2002-04.

For those with the Borla side exhausts, how are the fitment? Does it sit any lower than the stock exhaust (anywhere along from the cat on back) even with lowering springs installed? I have too many speed bumps/humps around my area to go bottoming out on the exhaust piping or cat.

heat, for the gasket, could you have just gotten a paper gasket from checkers ect. and then just cut it to fit the old one? or was it a different type of gasket?

I'm not sure. The stock one is metal so I don't know if a paper one would burn up from the heat. I posted in this thread asking about what to do with the gasket. If you have any problems, this should clear you up:
