Thats an easy thing to avoid, either take the tape off while the paint is still wet (thats the best option) or cut along the tape edge before you pull the tape.
Also when you pull the tape off, pull it at a 90* angle. It helps cut the line. |

So I took the light apart and now I cant get it to go back together at all. I cleaned out all the black caulking and scraped it down until it was completely clean and now the plastic lens doesn't seem to want to fit back on the black plastic back housing. it's almost as if it maybe warped while it was cooling. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong..

Here is the final product!
![]() The first light I baked at 250 for 15 mins, then again at 250 for another 10 mins, then at 300 for 5 mins, then 315 for 5 mins and finally got it apart. It took me about 2 hours of scraping to get all the glue out and eventually I finished the light. The second light I put in the oven at 315 for 10 mins and pulled it apart first try right after that. Not only did it pull apart right away but all the glue came out as one big hunk. From the time I started baking the second light until I was painting was 15 mins total. Way easier second time around.

I hope i dont get flamed for bumping this?
![]() When mine are apart i want to use that spray on tint stuff and paint the inside of the front lens to kinda smoke the light even more. Has any one tried this? Ive seen people smoke the lenses from the front but i dont want it to peel or come off from washing or what ever so i want to paint the inside while its apart. I havnt started anything yet im just at the planning stage. Any thoughts? Do the lights get hot enough to maybe boil the inside of the paint off? |

The light gets hot, but I'm sure it will be fine.

i will eventualy get the halo headlights like that, or similar. I just bought the car so im doing the cheap stuff now.
New hubcaps, painting the headlights and chrome grill, maybe add the black molding strip on the door. Then tint and wheels |
