I used the same thing, a wrench. Just make sure to not screw the screws in super hard and if you have to do it again it's so much easier. I usually have to do this once a week...been debating on if I want a new CD player or not. Unfortunatly, I was beaten to writing this FAQ....all I needed was the pictures. Oh well.

with steady even pressure, a t-10 torx screwdriver will get those screws out.
mine jammed with the reader mechanism set in place, so all I could do was get the (thankfully the jammed one) top CD out, and then only via the CD loading slot. I then reconnected the unit, and after hitting the buttons a few times it "woke up" and reset itself, and is now working! thanks for a great thread!!

The last time mine did that, I punched it. Worked a couple times, then I ended up punching the clock button and braking it, so now I cant change the time. Then the security strip thing ended up popping out randomly and a piece of plastic broke off it (not from physical abuse) and I had to Magiver that back in with a piece of paper. I have an ipod now so I have no more use for the cd player, so

6 CD player
Thanks for the information , I have the same problem and was able to remove 1 CD, I am not able to remove the other CD as the CD mechnism is obstructing their removal, do you have any tips to remove the balance CD's. I inserted the player in the car and I am still getting the error message. I have to remove all the CD's and I am not able to remove all of them.
Kindly give your feedback. Bob |

You guys, these units are piece of s
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() t. I put my armature back together my self after the jammed Cd's screwed it up, and now it doesnt even move. You know that usually it cicles through all the trays after the unit has been reset, well mine doesn't anymore. What I did to get the armature out of the way is I plugged the unit back in, I push load, once it was ready I turned the car off and unplugged the unit. When you push load, the unit retracts the armature so its not in the way of the tray mechanism, and you will be able to remove all Cd's PLEASE BE CAREFUL OR YOU'LL MESS IT UP!!!!!!!!!! |

I bought the Ford HU removal tools and it seems like the sucker is stuck in the track... Any ideas of how to get it out? The u-tools just pull out. One of my friends almost gave himself a black eye trying to pull it out.

mine were a bit tricky too, I think I rammed my fingers in there and tried to spread them a bit while pulling (wow, that sounds dirty)....but thats what I did.
