Should I buy a Focus??

Hi. I joined to ask some questions to you guys sice I know nothing about Focuses. I would like to buy a DD cause of gas prices and I wanted to see what you guys think about your mpgs. I not going to get it to mod but just to daily drive it and get decent mileage. What year focuses should I look into and which should I not? I like the looks of the hatchbacks and would prefer 4 doors for practicality.

It's either the focus or toyota coralla. I know the answer I get will be biased but shoot away anyway. Thanks.

My 03' zx3 gets around 28 mpg with normal driving. Im sure there is someone here with a corolla and a focus. In my opinion ( and probably most of everyone here) get a focus.

ZX5 is your answer.

But, (don't shoot me, peeps). If you want good mileage, the Jetta or Golf with a TDI engine gets around 50 mpg.

Yes, turbo diesel injection (TDI) is very expensive to maintain.

The only focus that was a problem (with a ton of recalls, flaws, bugs) was the 2000 model. The 2001 and up were fine although there are some 2001 models that had the fuel pump issue also.
