side marker problems on 04 focus

I have installed the clear side marker on the front passanger side of the car without a problem. When I go to install the drivers side, I get blocked from all angles. Any ideas on how to get in to the side marker so I can replace it.

Need HELP with this one. Any focus owners who had the same problem but finally got theirs on: tell me how.

Exact same issue

You got one of the optional Duratecs in 2004! Congrats, now have fun getting at that sidemarker. Brad already did a great job finding some links, so I'm just linking to that thread!

Your headlights are different, but the engine (which causes most of the issue) is the same. If the links aren't thoroughly helpful, do a Search only in Exterior Mods for "duratec side markers" or "clear corners" and that should cover any problems 03-04 owners had, if it was different from the 05 at all.
