hard to swallow

like everyone else i got/have the modification bug. the only problem is that bolts dont seem to do anything at all for this car. the exhaust is changed out only if you want a better sound. cai mess up if they are submerged in water and short rams offer little gains low end and in some cases take away power when you need it. a t/b altough a very good investment only offers better throttle feel. new pulleys are worth it but you have to sacrifice the a/c (not that i care). basically youre left with f.i. i would go jrsc but i cant find any two websites that have the same stats on what the supercharger puts out. powerworks and vortech are great for the money but i have 3 kids so there goes that. a turbo isnt street legal and this is my daily driver which is why an orp is out of the question.
im not complaining. i bolted on almost everything you could think of on my zx3 and it was worth it. svt basically built a great engine with little room for bolt-on modification enhancing. i guess id be satisfied with short ram, t/b, r/t cat, and my tune if i was hitting in the 14's. i dont see that happening though.
any ideas or numbers that you could show me with svts in the 14's with bolt-ons might persuade me to pony up some coin for them. otherwise whats the point? great handeling car but im lookin for a little more power to up the wow factor.
comments and numbers welcomed.

ever hook up emissions equipment to a turboed svt? you wont pass. im from jersey but im in the military. now im in ak and could wind up in cali. i need emissions legal everything for my ride. nos is a good option but no i dont want free h.p. i just want a consistant 14 sec car, mid 14's.

The tunes are very cost effective and make a signifigant difference, and the TB doesn't just improve throttle feel, it signifigantly improves throttle response. The same is true of the CAI and a better exaust, especially with the RT high-flow cat (7-8 FWHP, $368). Just because some things don't add BHP doesn't mean they won't make your car noticeably faster...

Grounding kit is worth a few horsies and is nearly free as well.

my point is already made. not a lot of people can say that you get mid to low 14-s from bolt-ons, at least no one that ive seen YET. tunes dont make a significant difference, i know because i have one. all im saying is svt did a great job with getting the engine to breath really well. basic bolt-ons are essentually intakes and exhausts to get the engine to breath better. i know what the basic components do to enhance the cars performance. show me mid to low 14's with bolt-ons and ill be singing another tune. im asking to see something not hatin on the svt.

Nos, nos, nos, or you could get the JRSC - other than that you're beating a dead horse.

You know it's wierd but I have spoken with someone who is deeply involved in the industry as well as product development for the SVTF (as well as many others) and they mentioned that they have seen SVTF's actually loose some power by installing some aftermarket parts. Very interesting point I think as well as a testament to how fine of a job that SVT did with these cars. Choose wisely
