So far , all my parts are fiberglass.
I'll be honest, I didn't even think about it, I just picked them because I seen not many people have them, so they look original.
(and the companies have good histories)
We shall see how hard they are I guess...................
Good info.

i hated my fiber glass kit, the company i got it from (dont remember) said it was poly but it was fiber glass. and i could never return it. its a pain to prep a pain to paint and breaks alot when your trying to fit it on your car.

Actually I think the 'common' hoods only come in either fiberglass or CF. I've yet to hear about any problems with fiberglass hoods, nothing very common anyway as far as problems.

Question Urethayne Body Kits

I have a 2000 Focus ZX3 model I've been tossin the idea around of a body kit. I was reading up on the Urethayne Vs. Fiberglass and was wondering if you had a idea on some companys who makes Urethayne Kits besides Wings West.[

I haven't updated this list but check it out in the thread below. It lists several other common body/lip kit companies out there as well as if they are urethane or fiberglass.....

For sure, that's what it's here for. Thing is that most people that are getting into exterior modifcations get suckered into buying a fiberglass kit since they are for the most part rather cheap in price, all over ebay, all over common aftermarket part websites, etc.

Hopefully people will search before buying a kit cause you'll pay for it later.

Fiberglass kits can work though but they do require alot more prep time, fitment and bodyshop costs, install time and costs as well as extremely careful driving, parking, weather issues, etc.

Urethane you basically don't have to worry about any of that.

Make your choice....

sorry to read this thread S2 after i purchased and installed a JT AUTOSTYLE fiberglass :( EVO 3 kit for my zx3. It required ALOT of work to get it on and it still doesn't seem to fit anywhere close to factory. I've already scraped coming out of parking lots and it cracked in the front because its so brittle. The JT AUTOSTYLE foglights that came with the kit are junk too. I've gone through about 3 pairs ($100 each pair!!) already because they keep blowing after a few months like the cheap Xenon bulbs you can get for about $20 at your local auto parts store. Right now i'm looking into getting rid of the bodykit because it has been nothing but problems. Thanks Chad for this thread it really helped me out for the nice Urethane kit I plan to get in the future. Do you know if the SVT kit is fiberglass or urethane?
