Why Car and Driver sucks

Well if anyone has read the Sept. 2005 issue of Car and Driver and happen to read the "Cheep Speed" article, you will know what I'm talking about. If not, I will tell you. It lines up 5 cars that are under $20,000 and over 200HP. The cars are the Acura RSX Type-S, Chevrolet Cobalt SS, Dodge SRT-4 ACR, Saturn Ion Red Line, Sabaru Impreza WRX. Now it comared each and somehow the Acura RSX Type-S came out number 1 followed by the Sabaru Impreza WRX, then the Dodge SRT-4 ACR, coming in fourth is the Chevrolet Cobalt SS and last but not least the Saturn Ion Red Line.
Now this is where I see that Acura has been shoving the green hand deep into Car and Drivers pockets because not only is it the slowest, worest handling car with the smallest back seat and worst auto-cross lap, is it is also the only forign car. It won for the following reasons, it has a "cool name", it is cool to say "Acura", atleast its cooler then saying "Dodge SRT-4" or "Big turbo under my hood". Car and Driver hates, I mean hates domestic cars, not once do they have anything nice to say about the car unless it cost over $30,000 and have 8 cylinders. Ofcourse the basis of the article is to have the most HP for the least amount of money or something along those lines but they must have said "Hey all the cars but the Acura have forced induction but because "Acura" sounds sooo cool to say, we are going to pick it". The car I think should have won in the SRT-4, the reason it lost was "overly agressive front seats and noise and vibrating." Tell me when your buying a car that stand for Street and Racing Technology, dont you think you would want something, you know, sporty?
I wrote a letter to them and I do hope they publish it but I have a very strong feeling that about half a million other people did to. Dont buy Car and Driver anymore, its becoming far to buyest to anything not made in Europe or Japan. Road and Track and had a head to head article featuring the Acura RSX Type-S vs the Chevy Cobalt SS and guess who won? The Cobalt SS as it should have. You know what, I say bite off the heads of all the Car and Driver editors and replace them, please!

Once I re-re-read what you have posted I tend to agree with you. However I do hope that you used some type of grammar check on that letter that you wrote.

you seem to forget the focus was one of C/D's best 10 for five years in a row

I really don't care if it was Car and Driver's top 10, its the negatives of the company that really show. As for grammer, it must have been me being in a rush to type this, sorry about that. It's just rubbish what they have done.

you said the Acura was the only "import" in the test, but isn't Subaru foreign as well? I know GM owns 20% of Subaru, but its still technically a Japanese company!

I like the Type-S, but I think the WRX should've won. F[:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)] Turbo lag! The handling, power, and AWD are enough to put it in 1st.

i didnt really agree with the article either..................i was really suprised becuase the rsx didnt really win ANY of the tests except for handling.................kinda odd i guess how it was last in all but one test and it STILL came in first

Your right. Turbo lag only reduces it a little.
