"that isnt the same thing.. thats like 9000 off"

It helps to read more than the title of the message, i.e.,:

"Was that retrieved through the Odometer? If so, it is nothing. The Odometer codes serve no purpose after the cluster leaves the factory. "

Did you get the code using a code scanner or the odometer test function? If from the Odometer test function, it means nothing. It sounds like a code from the odo display. Am I wrong?

"cant show up and it be nothing"

Why not?

If the panel test function is in-place for the purpose of testing the instrument panel assembly as part of the manufacturing process, perhaps when attached to tesing equipment which provides simulated signals, it is quite possible that odd codes could show up during operation and mean nothing.

I have a BMW that throws a code for "fuel sensor out of range" every time the car is started. It is just an artifact of how BMW implemented their OBD-II system and is meaningless as it is just s transient thing, i.e., looking too hard for codes can be quite deceptive.

9318 is "Battery Voltage Low"

Does it have any significance, or is it just a transient blip?

Who knows.

If you disconnected the battery to reset the codes, I would not be suprised to see a "battery low" code upon reconnecting it, due to transient blips during the connection activity.
