Track again tonight

Ok so last time I went to the track I ran 4 15.9's, and I thought that was what my car ran, and would always run. So tonight everyone (my friends) wants to go to the track, so I decide to go and not bring my car and just watch everyone else race. So they all talk me into going and running my car again. So I go, and got one run in all night, but it was my favorite run ever. Here's the slip...

R/T ... .582
60' ... 2.462
330 ... 6.678
1/8 ... 10.108
MPH ... 70.59
1000 ... 13.064
1/4 ... 15.558
MPH ... 90.34

So I'd say I did alright, considering my last time at the track kinda sucked, and I was convinced my car couldnt go faster than 15.9.
My mods are in my signature. Anyone else think I did ok? Either way, I was excited to get that time, and it was wicked fun.

There was also a guy there running 14.9 with a JRSC Zetec. It was good to see another Foci there doing pretty good.

I think you could run a faster time. On my 2.3 I ran a 15.6 with only a exhaust

Not a bad run. I think its either your driving or the track climate your running in, because with those mods + a tune you should see 14.XXX. Good improvement though.

I blame my driving. I dont drag race too often, so I dont get alot of practice. I'll keep working on it though.

I to went to the track last night. Its a local 1/8 & I was not running that great (or at least I dont think so). My Focus is stock other then the MBRP exhaust. My best run was a 10.75. My average over all was 11sec or so. I did 5 runs. I even got set up against a SRT-4. The guy could not drive worth crap. I pulled him off the line & had him until I needed to take 3rd, thats where he took off. He only beat my by about .14 of a sec but was going about 10mph faster when he finished. I must say, your numbers are looking good.

Yeah it's all about the launch, cause before I was getting horrible launches and was doing terrible. This time I only revved it up to about 4k and feathered the clutch a little. This time I kinda just shut my brain off and relaxed, and launched exactly how I wanted to and ran my best time. I also power shifted, which seems to help alot.
