cop picked the wrong car

hahahaha....some friends and I were leaving a party last night, we were there for maybe like 10 minutes before it got busted, but we weren't planning on staying there for very long anyways so none of us had anything to drink. When we got there since we weren't going to be there long my friend parked his car on the wrong side of the road, so the cops kick everyone out and we were walking to my friend's car and the cop tells us to get off the street and leave, were in his car and I was like "Trevor I bet you $10 that cop is gonna pull you over for driving on the wrong side of the road" didn't even get across the street before the cop lights were flashing. So all of us are in the car just laughing cause I called exactly what the cop was going to do, and the fact that we were the only car there that was full of sober people, so the cop takes my friend out of the car and gives him the whole deal, and he was like how come you guys were all laughing, and my friend was like you pulled over the only car that was full of 5 completely sober people. The cop gave him a ticket for a moving violation, my friend asked him how much they usually run, he said he didn't know cause he never shows up to court to find out, so basically my friend will go to court cop won't show up and he gets off scotch free.

yea, in livermore, the cop was just being a dick, the only reason he gave him a ticket is cause he was mad cause he didn't get him for a dui, cops and their power trips.

check your state laws... the cop may not have to show up to court because the ticket is his deposition. That is the way it is in Washington state. Even so, he could fight it and get off.

Good story. Around here, the cop doesn't have to show up on the court date... kinda sucks cause at least in the states that does work, you have a chance of getting lucky. Here you have to legitimately have a case to get the ticket lowered/dropped. Just showing up and being lucky isn't enough

in cali the cop has to show up, and even if he did the way the judges are around here there gonna look at the cop and be like why did you waste my time with this, the judge will look at the cop and be like pick one with a drunk driver next time.

Is it just me or does it seem weird that he can give a ticket without having a fine ON the ticket. Maby its different where I am but that sounds fishy.
