thats cool on the emissions thing, however, they do not sniff my car. everytime i have had it in they just hook up the sensor to the obd2 port and run computer diagnostics. im gonna get an o2 cheater to be safe.

OK...So I was also thinking about that license plate placement...i recently got a ticket for the licence plate...but i already taped it to my front just to show the judge and clear it for 20 bucks. But i was not very happy with the PO-Po that pulled over just because of my plates placement...its still in the front in a the window...VERY DAMN VISIBLE TOO!
Yeah amber has to be seen out of the side markers...and as for tinting the lights...(focustech) is right as long as you can see them from those distances when lit you are ok.

read my post.... clear/amber red/amber...

come sept 5th, front plate law will be gone.

tinting is illegal, it falls under the same as covers.

race header i would fail as you are required to check for emissions on the vehicle. you do not however have to have mufflers. high flow cats are legal.

are you sure on that, if they dont "sniff" my car and i have an o2 cheater shouldnt that keep it all good? im gonna run the race header either way, i just want to know if im gonna have to put on my stock header and cat for my inspection.

peter you'll be fine. i didnt' have a cheater and i didn't throw any codes at all. i think i got pretty lucky though. when you need to get inspected, i'll tell you where to go if you are worried. ;)

not sniff test. visual, we are required to check over exhaust systems for holes and cat. we are supposed to raise the hood and look under for any oil leaks too... but most of us don't even pop the hood when doing the obd test. most the cars are 2000 plus... time is money. and east inspection pays me a half hr :)

for most shops they wouldn't even check. especially with an aftermarket exhaust. if ya got the cheater...most likely you'll be fine.

TM3: from what i know it was approved. my regional officer was talking about it last week

ok copying this stright out of the state inspection book, 20.26 2e
lamp lens is painted, missing, discolored, or does not fit properly.

ok so nightshade is a type of paint so yes that would fail, but if you use a film, it doesn't fall
into the painted catagory, now the discolered part is questionable i will admit, what can get you in trouble is that under 20.27 2h, lamp lens is not red in color, fails, so it depends like I said earlier "dark red" will pass, we all know that items can fall under our descretion, so it just
depends on what you feel you can get away with when inspecting, I could no find anything about covers in the book I also couldn't find a date on the book so I don't know if its current,
but its what we have and we have to go "by the book"?
