? about turbo

im very intrested in getting a turbo.
i only plan on running maybe 8-10 psi

my main question is on tunning. ther is no dyno near me that i know of.
would a "mail order" tune be safe to run.

what kind of price am i looking at for a basic turbo kit.

mail order tunes would only be safe if you were to datalog with a wideband O2 sensor, and have the tune adjusted until it was right. nobody can provide you with an off the shelf tune that will be completely safe. you can get a base tune that will allow you to make a run or two for datalogging, but then it needs to be adjusted.

so with low psi, the main concern i will have is with the air/fuel ratio ?

air/fuel, spark timing, etc. there's a lot that goes into a tune, and if you don't want your engine to blow, you need to do it right the first time and get dyno tuned

thats my problem. the nearest dyno is at least a 3 hour drive away.

would a base tune be enough to drive the car for that long until i get to dyno ?
