Angry Slow start , desperate HELP

Hello,

I am a 2002 SVT Focus Owner , ever since I bought this car I felt is very slow on 1st gear . It takes a while to get up to speed on 1st . Ford already swap 3 clutches thinking this is the problem, they rectified the head since they told me it was loosing compression . I'm tired of this ... I like the car but being in the street at a stop light and realize that a Ford Ka runs faster than me (on first gear) is ....... very sad ..... is there anything I can do to increase performance in this Area ? Please advise ...I am a very frustrated SVT driver....

Tune it biatch. The sct chip gets rid of some of the first gear bogging.

and oh yeah, I'm back!

Also to get it to rev faster, perhaps a lightweight flywheel. Just go for all bolt ons, or if you have the cash, that new Power Works supercharger kit would definately kick some serious tail! Kind of pricey though

If it seems abnormal, do a good tune up on it. If you're just complaining b/c you think its just all around a slow car, do what these guys said. How many miles are on it?

I don't think the car is slow overall , it's just the 1st gear that drives me crazy , it's hard to get the car going and it's a shame that slower cars pass me by easily . I feel I have to release the clutch almost 90% to really feel that gas is coming in. Imagine this scenario: I was driving at rush hour on a very slight slope (cars in front and back of me) We were moving really slow , every time I got into a full stop , I had to use my hand brake because by the time I took the clutch out 90% to start moving , the car will start moving back opening all possibilities to hit the car in my back. So it's a game of Hand Brake, clutch release to 90% , release hand brake etc etc . If you say the SCT chip will fix this I will buy it now , I'm just afraid to invest in this car to later realize I keep having the same issues . This is why I'm asking you to advise carefully what you guys really think will help me out resolve this issue. Ireally like the car but under these circumnstance it's not a joy to drive.

Please help !

Weird that the clutch take up is like that, mine isn't at all, I get a bit of grab at maybe 10% of letup. My biggest problem is that I can't "feel" the clutch like I could on my Miata and SVT Contour, that dual-mass flywheel smooths it out *too* much.

Has the clutch line been bled?

Have you been able to drive a different SVT Focus and compare the clutch feel of that to yours?
