well it's almost like a weird sounding air whine. i haven't had any problems and it runs and sounds great. just sounded weird. but certainly no problems. just wanted to see if anyone else had the same thing.

with my mm cai.
it does the natural breathing, that the oem filter box prohibits...
One of the PZEV emissions criteria is the elimination (or at least great reduction) of Air, fuel vapors from entering the atmosphere after the engine has shutdown.

Perhaps I'll make a video of sounds that a Marcy Intake makes... once I get my car back.

Another familiar sound comes at idle, when the accessory pully kicks in... (i think)
Whenever I hit the AC /Fan... the intake will make a "ploonk" sound.
It comes at like 45 second intervals.

yeah, i've heard that once or twice. just wanted to make sure it wasn't something bad. didn't figure cause it is great besides that. if i give it a little rev right at shut down it doesn't do it. like it gives the air time to slow down at a steady pace instead of a cut off all at once if that makes sense.

Well I just installed this mod about 2 days ago and it runs really nice, I definitely love the suction sound coming from the front of the car now, along with the slightly louder exhaust note. The only thing I opted not to do was flip the MAF tube around and turn the MAF sensor the other way(i didn't want to have to trim and seal the hole). For anyone looking for some easy mod that gives a bit of power for under 30 bucks, this is the one for you.

Zyghot, how did you make it all fit then? The way we've been doing it, the end fit perfectly into the accordian piece - I didn't think the other end would fit nearly as well?

oh, and another perk... got an even smoother idle after installation

YES, it makes a cawwwwwwwwshs...sound at shut off.

I'm waiting for my dad to get home cause he has my digital cam with him. I'll take a picture of my setup and post it here so everyone can see that I did it without turning everything around or triming the MAF sensor opening.

Now I just need to get some kind of all weather foam to stick in between the filter and the fenderwell so I won't get any kind of metal to metal vibrations.
