Well I tried it! The fitment is great but my check engine light will not go off. Im thinking I might of messed up my sensor trying to get it to fit right with the tube turned around. Went to the Ford dealership to see about getting a new MAF sensor and tube.....219.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yea right. and then they want 90 bucks to plug their computers into my car and tell me something is causing the check engine light to come on.....ill pass on that too. Any suggestions on what i should do? Checked the seal of the MAF sensor and made sure their were no leaks and the light stays on; the funny thing is that my car runs fine, idles fine, shifts better, pulls through every gear perfect but that stupid light wont go off. It would be nice to buy a new MAF tube, with or without the tube.....anywhere i could find one cheap or anyone willing to sell?

Did you unplug the negative battery cable for about 15-20 min? Doing that might clear your ecu and the cel might turn off.

Disconnected the battery for 15 mins, checked the seal on my MAF sensor, hooked the battery back up and NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!!! Thanks everyone for the advice. Im building a airbox out of sheet metal as we speak so ill post pics when im finished!

p.s. - the custom SRI is def. the way to go, forget spending 200 bucks on a steeda or focus sport. I like the almost stock looks!

Just a word of warning guys:

Without some sort of protection, the air filter will get wet during the rain and other weather events. It would be very beneficial to make some sort of heat shield to protect the filter. The rain channel for the hood is to the right of the filter.

Just thought I'd let you all know.

P.S: I have the Steeda SRI and love it, kinda wish I knew about this earlier cuz I would have done this myself, oh well.
