Wow, I didn't realize I'd get so many pro-OBX responses.

I guess I'm picking an OBX up!

Thanks,
Derek

I don't think you'll be disappointed... You can only be disappointed if the mail handler damages the item, make sure you insure.

Someone said something about getting a different (copper) gasket for it rather than using the one that comes with it. Do I pick that up at Ford?

I have the OBX 4-2-1 race header. and i was the one that commented about the copper header gasket, i put mine on it was good at first but after like 2 days i had horrible gas leaks, and i took the header off and the gasket was coming apart with carboard in the middle so i paid 20 bux and got the copper one, everything is perfect now. other than the gasket the header is awesome, very good gains and the welds look very high quality, so i would go for it. hope you like it as much as i do

I bought a used FC header, recoated it with JetHot, and got out the door $200 in all for the purchase and recoat. I LOVE my header, especially the fact that it will not turn blue or bronze. FC is goiing way downhill... I don't know if I will be buying too much more from them.

Do you pick this new copper gasket up direct from OBX?

Also just one more question.... I have heard a lot of recent problems after race header installs from people here on this forum. Does this has anything to do with them not buying a MIL eliminator? I am planning on picking one up with the header purchase.

I was the guy that bought fc headers and got OBX. I swapped them out for focussport headers, simply because I wasn't informed about receiving a focuscentral header with an OBX badge.

I've seen an actual obx header on a car with 10,000 on the header and it looked like it was holding up alright...

I haven't recieved my focussport headers yet to really compare them.

The only reason I returned the FC headers is because they had OBX written on them, they looked like nice headers. But if I wanted to sell them in a year I'd get nothing for them because they are OBX headers.....

I'd say buy the OBX headers, i'm sure they will work fine and cost 1/2 what the focus central ones cost.

You probably wouldn't get much for the FC headers in a year either.
