Volant

hey, i know this probably has been asked before, but i'm at work and dont have time to do a search..i have a short ram intake, and i wish i bought a CAI, but i dont have the money to buy a new one....so would the heat shield thing on the Volant intake fit on my existing intake? even though it's not a Volant? also if it does, would i be able to buy one without buying the whole Volant kit? thanks

The Volant doesn't have a heat sheild, it's a "box" that replaces your stock box.

id just sell your short ram and buy a used volant, itd porbably end up costing you less money then trying to buy half a volant intake and see if it works

it may fit with the stock tube since it has the flex section.

that seems to be made for the SVT instead of the regular non-SVT. To my knowledge, i didn't know that Volant made a intake for the SVT yet. The cheapest place i've seen a Volant is from Ray @ intakesandexhaust.com but his site is down right now. I got mine for $250 shipped.

No, the guys at HopUp are just morons when it comes to making a clear statement on their website. I had the same concern, but I called them and they re-assured me it was for the Zetec engine. You're right, Volant doesn't make an intake for the SVT (it really doesn't need a new one). I told Hop Up that they should just update the web page, and not use some generic Volant picture because it just confuses everyone.

I got mine for a little under $230 shipped.

It appears FF HTML encoding doesn't like the "..." trail off that I put at the end of my post.
