Need axle torque spec and ABS sensor removal question
I've been having what appears to be a bearing noise in the left front. It gets worse when the car is driven for a while and when I go around corners, but there is no play in the wheel when I have the car jacked up and check.
Considering that there is no play and it gets worse when I have been driving for a while I wonder if the axle was torqued too tight and over compressed the bearing. The heat from driving could make the bearing expand making the noise worse. What is the correct axle lock/retaining nut torque for an SVT? After all that I have been through at the dealer it wouldn't surprise me that they over tightened the lock/retaining nut.
Also, does anyone know how to get the abs sensor out of the steering knuckle? I took the bolt out and the sensor almost seems to be pressed in. I don't want to pry on it too muchj for fear of breaking the sensor. Any ideas?
