Parts I want some advice please.
Ok, here is a list of things I want to get done over the winter on my 2001 Ford Focus ZX3 with the 5-speed.
Head Cams Intake Header / Exhaust combo (Loudest with most power gains no emmisions testing so I am looking for a race header) Pulleys Carbon Fiber hood Lighest Gunmetal 17" Wheels out. Any advice as to what parts are the best or where I can get the best prices would be very helpful, or if you see something else I should get with this list that I might have missed. Thanks in advance. |

I dunno if their the lightest gunmetal rims out there, but Velox rims certianly look the best...I got some VX-6R's on my liquid grey car and match the paint PERFECTLY TO THE T!!!! Look great! I might get some pics up soon but I got a page on cardomain.com under avengerc3 so if u wanted to look...DON'T ORDER EM FROM VELOX! You can get a pair cheap with tires in mags at the store for like 800...I spent 600 on just the rims from an aftermarket dealer, which is a good price until I talked with others and found out RESEARCH! I coulda got my same rims for 400 bucks or 650 with tires...sucked but whatever... shit happens....lemme know how it goes

Head - Ford Racing (cheapest?) Focus Sport (best)
Cams - Not Familiar Intake - highest hp gain / AEM CAI - best throttle response / MAC Header - Focus Sport 4-1 w/ flex pipe from Focus Sport Exhaust - loudest / borla or bosal - quietest without losing hp/tq Focus Sport Stealth Pulley - I have the MAC it was like $50 +shipping Wheels - *shrug* your cup of tea

Pulley - FC 2 piece
Intake - Volant Exhaust - Borla Head - Ford Racing Cams - Crowner stage 1 probably for u ur also gunna want to finish off that exhaust. Get a FocusSport Race header and a flex pipe. also u wanna get FC adjustable cam sprockets when ur done with all the shizzle u need to go get a dyno tune. This is the order i recommend doing this stuff. Almost left thise out u'll need to look into ignition as well and some 24 l/b injectors probably. Pulley Intake Header, Flexpipe, exahaust (wanna do that all at once so we count it as one) 65mm throttle body cam sprockets cams MSD ignition Ford Racing 9mm plug wires 24 l/b injectors or 48 i'm not to sure need to ask about that head dyno tune wheels

also man since ur looking into buying that ford racing head u'll wanna pick up a Ford Racing intake mani, probly a 70mm t/b and a 70mm MAF. IF i was u i would get every except the Ford racing head, skip the ford racing mani, skip the 70mm t/b and skip the 70mm MAF and buy a freaking Jackson Racing Super Charger

Karncustoms, what are you building the car for? Racing?
All of the above posts are opinions. You need to understand that some of the mods require extensive work and a nice amount of money. What are your goals and your budget? |
