Relaunch of SVT Focus

I have been looking around the net and there seems to be some chattering of Ford bringing both the SVT Focus back and an SVT version of the Fusion. How cool would that be. Apparently SVT's goal is to have five products on the market at any one time. So starting in the 2007 model year there could be SVT versions of Focus, Fusion, Mustang, Lightning, and Adrenaline. Anyone else hear the same? I had to sell my SVT for an Escape, family reasons, I have since bought the only option available in the ST Focus. I would love to be able to get back into a new SVT Focus

We are all patiently awaiting the return of the SVTF (hopefully with AWD and FI).

Chatter on the internet is probably just that. From the inside I haven't heard anything about a new svtF in a while. the last I heard was the turbo model and that was killed off.

As far as models go, the mustang is certain, fusion is extremely likely, the Lightning i'm not sure of, word is that it will be replaced outright by the Adrenaline. There is also some talk that the SVT brand may include nonford vehicles, a lincoln perhaps.

The only ones released for sure are the Mustang Shelby GT500 (Cobra) and the Adrenaline, the new Sport Trac. Everything else is just chatter and speculation. Even if they're working on something else it could be cancelled, like the Fusion version that is so rumored.

Just for argument sake I'll link you to an article.

I know that it is a long shot, but maybe SVT really does want to brand itself with big guys.

Anybody know if Ford is taking waiting lists yet for the Shelby GT500? If so how does one get on it? My wife said I could buy one!!!

god, I hope Ford doesn't screw up and allow the SVT name to go to non ford vehicles. Dodge did this with the SRT, and now every car daimlerchrysler makes has an SRT model, even the freakin minivan.

SRT was not a very strong brand though. they just kind of threw it on the table and ran with it. The SVT brand has been developing for more than a decade now.

There is an SRT minivan? Are you sure? Maybe SXT or R/T but I hadn't heard of an SRT minvan. There are not that many SRT vehicles out there compared to the number of different cars DC sells (imho).
