Those rubber things for making the knob fit on snug, where exactly do they go?
Do you have to cut a hole in the closed up end of the rubber thing?
I am very annoyed that I can't figure this out. Please help.
I am having this problem right now...got everything in and tried to put the knob on and cant til someone tells me how to. I tried but the adapter is too tight and how exactly does it go on? Do I need to cut a whole in the top? Cuz it wont go down when I push on it. Put the stock one back on for now. I need detailed insructions and maybe pics on how exactly the adapter goes on and how do i get this to work. And do the holes on the knob not reach the ones on the shaft? If so do I just screw these into the metal and not have any holes? Details would be appreciated!

The whole thing, or the handle? I assume you mean handle, but here's both. The handle just has a set screw, back it off and pull it off. Watch the O/D wire too.

The whole thing is one piece, shifter base, shaft and all. Remove console, unclip shifter cable and you should see the four bolts that hold the base in.

The first post shows you the automatic shift knob held on with a set screw. You can do a ball type knob, but you'll have to disable the shiftlock on an automatic.
