My project cost a lil over 4.50. you can use the gold metalcast without the base coat.(gold itself) I'll take pix right now. had it for about 6 months and still looks good. oh yeah it dries in about 15 min. so you'll be able to handle it not to long after painting it.

can you get the enamel in amber/orange?

I asked a question higher up.... do you think the enamle will withstand higher temperatures? The 05's have glass lense, but it is closer to the bulb.

any comments are helpful.
Thanks
Igor

I think you can get it in an orange/amber, not sure though. As for the foglights themselves, I am going to have to say this:

If you have a non SVT Focus, or are painting non SVT foglights/lenses etc. you do this at your own risk. I cannot be held responsible for your foglight melting. This mod has been tested on only the SVT foglight. I don't know how this will hold up on the ZX3/ZX4/ZX5/ZTS/ZTW/ST model Focus.

Yeah, i have a 2006 ST, are there any options for yellow forglamps for them. I'd also prefer bulbs, not paint.

I recently did this too, and the krylon yellow is PURE yellow, like IS300 fog light yellow, the stickercity.com rock guard (basically laminx) (compared to my friends WRX with all stickercity) is more of a lighter yellow, but nonetheless still yellow, its just a light yellow, doing this mod makes it a PURE yellow, bright as [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]* too...check my gallery, lol

Yep, looks good. That first pic in your gallery pretty much sums it up. Mine are yellow just like that. How many coats did you use?

Update

As of immediately, I am not longer suggesting or supporting this modification. The paint has not held up well on my foglights, and was removed Friday, August 18, 2006.

I removed the foglight from the mount, and simply scraped the yellow paint off with a razor blade. It is a little time consuming, but it comes right off. If you want yellow foglights for your SVTF, I suggest either yellow Lamin-X or Nokya, Luminics or other aftermarket yellow bulb, or a combination of the two. I am going to go with the Luminics yellow 9005 (modified to fit) and I will see how it goes from there.
