Going to be replacing the timing belt, water pump and components on my car in the next few weeks. Was looking at 'Focus Sport' for a timing belt from possibly Kent Cams and came across a lightweight adjustable cam gear. I have thought of one day getting a cam gear and having it dyno tuned but don't plan on the adjustment anytime soon as I still need a tune and an intake. Being the cam gear is lightweight would any performance or longevity be made from the lighter gear or is it purely only for dyno purposes to get anything out of it?
May seem like a stupid question but thought if I am going to be doing the timing belt that this may be a good time to install the gear.(Doing it because my water pump is starting to leak and also close to 90,000 miles / 7 years). Also anyone know where to find a good deal or any other brands that offer a good lightweight cam gear?
