Are you talking home made (like cutting down your stock one) or aftermarket ones?
For mine, no reception loss at all, cut it down over 50% and no problem. No pics right now but I can go take some if you want. Let me know....

I had the silver one like that for a while until it snapped off with some accumulated snow :/
It affected reception only a little bit that I noticed... channels that were strong before you didn't notice any change, but weak stations got fuzzier or got lost altogether. If you're in a metro/suburban area there will be a lot less change than if you're more rural, I'm guessing. Also, I've heard those black shorties fade to a crazy purple color, so that's something to keep in mind if you wanted that particular one. |

Yeah I would only get the black one....thats good to know i guess. I'd like to see a few pictures of it on the car first though.
edit: i just found the "how to" do it yourself shorty antenna and that looks pretty damn easy.......was it easy and how does it look S2? can you post some pics this weekend? Thanks!

Here's a pic of the silver billet shorty on my car... It isn't the particular colour you are looking for, but I suppose it would give you a rough idea of what it would look like. ^_^ I haven't noticed anything weird with the reception compared to the stock antenna.

wow you guys are quick...and those pics look great.. finally, those with the shorty, are you happy with how it looks? does it look tacked on?
i am starting to lean again towards buying the $20 one and keeping my stock one as is in case. thanks to all for their quick replies.
