Question underdrive pulleys and daily driving

I am considering getting underdrive pulleys for my 2000 focus. My question is how will they affect my daily driving. I have heard that underdrive pulleys make your power steering very laggy when you are driving slower speeds. Is this true? What other "side affects" can be expected with under drive pulleys?

it just gives you a little more of the low end hp. its just a pulley and im 99% positive it has no effect on steering. its just a replacement pulley. no where near anything to do with the steering

UDP's will underdrive the power steering pump (making it require more effort at slow speeds), air conditioning (making it cool less) and alternator (you might have charging problems at idle if you have a large power drain).

Other than that, I'm unaware of what else is affected. You should notice more power and better MPG's.

Nothing but postive comments on my UDP. And my AC isn't that much cooler.

I didn't notice any difference with mine except for having a little more pulling power.

I have had my Focus Sport UDP since February and I cannot tell any difference in power steering, A/C, charging or anything else except for an increase in power. I drive this car every day and this pulley has been 100% reliable. GREAT upgrade!

I have the AFX, and the only beef I have with it is that it takes a little bit longer than normal for the a/c to get cold. Other than that..I love it. Well worth the money.

Have it on my ATX daily driver and no problems or differences that I can tell with steering or A/C.
