Just wondering,

But why didnt you just use a red sharpie on the orange needles. You will get the same result.

As for the crome paint, sounds plausible. If it is confirmed by all means, no secrets lost.. Thats why stickies have open threads, for open suggestions..

You'll need to take the cluster out of the car. After that, look over the HOW-TO above. The bulbs are held in a housing that twists into the cluster-board. To remove the bulbs, gently but firmly pull the bulbs out. You'll see it, it's fairly simple

I didnt think of a red sharpie.. Good Idea, sounds plausible too. Again thats why this sticky has an open thread, good idea! I am going to use blue LEDs (come off kinda dark purple like a black light) I plan to use 6 LEDs with 6 resistors. I will post the results when I can. Man LEDs are expensive!

The orange needles are blow molded orange though, regardless of what color you paint them they will show up orange. They are orange all the way through.

It MIGHT be possible to get them a different color. If you use a Kandy paint than you might be able to get a different color. Kandy paint is transparent..

if you change the stock bulb on the lcd display to a blue led will you get blue light? or does the screen have a green filter on it? and oh yea isnt the bulb for the lcd smaller than the other bulbs for the gauge cluster.

Nope... the screen has the green filter... (paint/color) Yes, the bulb is smaller than the rest of the bulbs, or in this case, the main bulbs that light up the entire cluster.
