How much better mileage are you getting Newk? Just started using Shell as well as it is right by my school. Hopefully I'll start seeing a noticeable difference too.
I now drive a Japanese Ford.

I use 100% Shell 87 octane regular, currently $ 2.92/gallon, and it is certified as a Top Tier gasoline. See www

I found my old post, which claimed 33.5... Its time for an update.

I've got an '02 zx3 w/ mtx, which currently has the SVT airbox/ snorkel assembly, K&N air filter, K&N oil filter w/ 5w20 full synthetic oil (mobil 1), rear 'lunchbox' muffler delete (running 2.25" exhaust after the first muffler), 38psi front and 36psi rear (cold inflation pressures) I drive in the low end of the rpm band (2k and lower) over 95% of the time, and my driving is mostly done on backroads, almost no highway miles, w/ maybe 10% city driving.

I'm now getting an average of 38.5mpg, w/ a best of 39.1 (WOOT!!)

I get anywhere between 30 and 35 and I peak every once in a while at 36. I drive on average about 70-75 about 90% country 2-lane highway changing 3 different highways each way with usually slowing down to about 3rd gear at approx. 2500 rpms.

Just turned in a 30.13mpg tank in my SVT...with a vacuum leak. With any luck, this'll be the last tank I fill it with before I sell.

Mustang got 13.71mpg last tank, bike got 47.29 :D

It get about 18 city and my Dad just got 28 in my Bullitt when he took it home to watch it while I'm away. When I had my '02 ZX3 I would get 22-24 in the city and 32 on the highway with the a/c running and a jacked up IAC. Even after I fixed it I still got the same mileage. I miss that focus. It was fun car to own. I'll eventually get another one, but this time I'll keep it and build it up.

I drive 60 miles one way to work daily and it's about 99.5% freeway and at 60mph, I get 47 in my '03 ZX3 with Volant intake, and Borla SVT exhaust, and 42mpg in my '07 Duratec which for the moment is stock. It's by no means flat, and there are some big hills that I have to go up, but if it's steep enough on the way down, I coast and that really increases my MPG!

ive been checking mine first run mostly open roads 5th gear at about 2-2500 rpm....then some highway 5th gear at like 3100rpm....and i got like 79 miles to a quarter tank making that about 22 mpg....second run mostly highway and a bit of stop and go and i forget how many miles but i got 21mpg and all this is normal driving shifting from can see my mods and honestly i thought id be doing a lot better, although the ST isnt rated for outstanding gas mileage its still a 4 banger 25mpg i thought would be a breeze...
So i was wondering what is more efficient take for instance if i wanna go 45mph.... 4th gear at about 2600 i would just be feathering the gas...or 5th gear at like 2000rpm but my foot is prolly a 1/4 of the way down trying to keep it steady....
