I have been getting around 32 with the bone stock ZX3 I own.

The not so stock Twilight Blue ZX3 I own gets between 22 and 28 usually. Depending on the amount of acceleration zones experienced during each tank.

Ok, heres the latest report from our 1200 mile upper Michigan run a few days ago. SGII installed and all calibrated. No A/C. Cruise when I could. Windows sometimes up, sometimes down. Nothing fancy in the way of coasting/grannying/drafting/ etc. Just plain normal driving without beating the crap out of it! Oh, as for brands of gas, it ranged from Marathon, Mobil, Shell, and Citgo - all 87 octane. And it was popping about $3.49/gal in the U.P.

1st leg - all interstate 65 mph with front quarter head wind - 39 mpg
2nd leg - US2 two lane 55 mph dead head wind - 40.5 mpg
3rd leg - Misc side roads 2 lane 55 mph slight tail/no wind - 43.5 mpg
4th leg - Misc side roads 2 lane 55 mph slight tail/no wind - 41.5 mpg
5th (final leg) - all interstate 65 mph no wind effect - 40.0 mpg

The U.P. of Michigan is not dead flat. The western part rolls pretty good so these numbers were on mixed flat to rolling terrain.

In town mixed 50 city/50 hwy driving around home has been returning a consistent 35-37 mpg.

The SGII was right on the money and confirmed with the fill up at the pump calculations. These numbers are the confirmed numbers from the pump, supported by what the SGII was reading.

My recommendation is that anyone that wants to learn how to save fuel invest in the SGII.....it has been invaluable up to this point and I have only scratched the surface with alot more to learn. 55 mph seems to be my sweet spot and is what I prefer to drive at anyway. We just let the boys blow on by and mile while looking at the SGII and scenery!

Needless to say, I am more then pleased with the FoFo!!
How in the hell u get that mileage?! Whats the sgII?

My all-time best was 34 earlier this summer. I don't accelerate quickly (well, not all the time), try to coast whenever I can. When on the highway, if I can stand it, I run with no A/C & the windows up (fan on 3). If it's too hot, I try to run the A/C only when coasting or going downhills. But these two last weeks have been super hot & I've been running A/C all the way home in the afternoon & I got 31 last week.

Now I noticed that I got a little better fuel economy after I changed the motor oil to Royal Purple 10W-30 at my last oil change. Maybe it's a figment of my imagination. I will see if the mileage goes back down when I switch back to Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 5W-20.

Only mod to car (at the moment) is MBRP exhaust system.

Car: '04 ZX3, 2.3L, MTX-75, 29,xxx miles.

It's all in the technique !

ScanGaugeII is only the Fuel Economist's best tool. My last several tanks have averaged over 48 .My cMPG gaslog here

Just attentive driving and attention to a few details will amaze you .

I get really grumpy and angry in the heat, but I'd love to hypermile--my wife, however, doesn't let me drive without AC on when it's 85, and I suppose that's alright. I really am asking hard for a CG II for Christmas--it pays for itself, right?--but can some CGII folks tell what the true bottom line effect of AC is, say, to 70 mph cruising? I understand that there are lots of variables.

My best MPG thus far was 36 on the way to my honeymoon ( ) on a drive West from Illinois's Northeast corner to it's Northwest. We were taking state and US highways on a cool night, where 60 is a perfect cruising speed and no AC was needed but you have a few towns to stop through. Galena (our destination) is incredibly hilly, and once we got there, with our new car, fuel economy took a backseat to having some enjoyable drives through beautiful country.

If you're in the midwest and you love to drive, don't overlook northwest IL or Southwest WI--they're much prettier than eastern IA (believe me), and US 20, 30, and 40 are really awesome roads. OFF TOPIC.
