MPG poll

I have 3600 miles on my 07 & the best I've seen is 28. I have a pretty heavy foot as you might imagine (Leadf00t). I average about 25mpg with a 22 couple of tanks ago, spent most of that tank at WOT. I'm wondering what people are getting for miles on a tank ? If I get 300 i'm pretty happy. Most of my driving during the week is highway, but thats at 75 or 80 most of the time.

Well, I hate to do "how many miles per tank" because that's an inexact science at best...last tank I got 287 miles until the gas light came on and 300 miles when I filled up. MPG was 26.41, no freeway (we don't have one here).

I fill up every three days which is right around 205 miles +/- a few and it takes 4.5 to 5.0 gallons to fill . Not that it will be a linear curve but that makes approximately 570-600 miles per tank . My last 9 entries to my gas log have me at a 44 mpg avg .

65 mph will get you some free gas . Slow down a little , put your right foot on a diet ,neutral coast when possible and your tank will grow .No other mods necessary .

Do you hypermile? I've been trying to pick up a few tricks of the trade, but my SVT doesn't seem to be responding well to it.

Well a form of hypermiling , yes- I do Not draft or engine off coast! Sorry folks can say what they want ...I see them as dangerous .
For good tips on FE: GasSavers and CleanMPG are really good . Just don't preach to the choir about making seven-eleventy bazillion mods and making 500 hp and have No clue why your mileage is pee poor . Although some mods do respond well to hypermiling -
it is more about driver modification than anything .

33 mpg combined is pretty much right in the norm - I bet you a dime to a doughnut ...you can bring that to a 38 mpg average . Just depends on how badly you want to do it .

I'm on cleanMPG...sounds like you do about what I do. But like I said, the SVT really doesn't seem to respond that well to it...

What are you running for mpg ?

I see you've gone from 24 to 31! isn't that @ a 40% improvement ?

That was a bit of wishful thinking...I was going by what my ScanGauge was telling me, but I hadn't calibrated it yet. Last tank turned in 26.41mpg, and this one isn't shaping up any better. I'm a bit mystified because my first two in-town tanks with the car were 25.5-26.2mpg, and then it dropped off suddenly, and it just seems like I'm working harder just to get back to the mileage I had before.
