Yes. It's a Mk2 turbo common rail diesel. 5 speed, 1.8 doink. The bestest mostest cheapest fun I've ever had. :P

As an aside, does anyone know what 49 - UK Imperial - mpg is in US Imperial?

-edit-
Sorry if this was a petrol only thread - oh, and "hello", i'm new :)
49 gallon [UK] = 58.846546101 gallon [US, liquid]

i get right around 30 mpg garunteed that is the lowest i have ever gotten. I now am seeing more of 35-41 when i go home. I live in wyoming and home is in ks. I spent about 37 dollars at 2.89 a gallon and went 621 miles. i got it at 38 mpg and it is getting a lot better with the more driving i do i am creeping up on 100K about 465 miles to be exact but hey who is doing the math. I am impressed thought gas mileage would drop off with higher mileage turns out opposite.

I'm guessing the 621 is a typo because thats about 48mpg.

Shift when the dummy light says when your in town.

My 07 did 30 something on the first tank it had in it. This tank is alot lower and ive been NOT shifting when the light says in town. Pushing gears a little farther etc.

honestly ill see 35 if i just stop passing people on the 2 lane omw to work. Thats my biggest problem. They go 60 in a 65, so i zip by em and eat the gas milage. :-\

Made a trip to Dallas yesterday in my SVT, got 33.3mpg...that includes about 35-40 miles of in-town driving and couple of leadfooted lane changes, as well as some stop-and-go on the Dallas freeways. Otherwise I cruised at 60-65, cycled a/c on and off. Only 'mod', if you want to call it that, are the plugs listed in my sig. Also had a 200lb passenger on the way back with two bags, probably totalling 60lbs themselves. Pretty impressed, but I think I could do even better. I haven't checked my tire pressure in about two weeks, so that's a spot I can improve upon.

This week I checked my Highway MPG. I got 36.2 MPG. I drove the speed limit of 65 mph with my AC on. I have Autolite 104's gapped at .055". I have just a little over 2,500 miles on my car.
