30-35 with 80% Freeway at 70mph ,light a/c use . Not exactly 'trying' for high mpg , just driving the way I normally do .

It seems to be settling in now at 25.7mpg. Mostly country roads and in-town driving...

ok im getting between 34-37 at 80% hiway, cc set at 70mph, use ac as required, but dont leave it on if i dont need it (doesnt seem to affect my milage on the hiway, but in the city its a factor)
as for my car...
k&n panel filter
copper core plugs gapped at .060
215/45/17 General UHP tires at 32psi front 30psi rear (on EAP SVT weels)
as for driving style
i drive like a panzy most of the time, but even when i get on it it doesnt seem to effect my gas milage, but when driving like a panzy i shift by 2750, except when going into 6th or going up a steep hill, then i shift at 3000

35 average. With more highway 38mpg. I have 215,000 on the car. It stills uses no oil and Ive done some upgrades. Headers, svt exhuast, cool air intake, under drive pulleys. I do drive slow most of the time, drives my friends crazy...lmao. I wonder if the higher mileage actually increases the mileage from low resistance in worn wheel bearings, loosened motor, etc?

Oh yea still has stock clutch...I thought about changing it for the low weighted one but that might decrease my mileage? I think I would need to match rpm to engine speed more often?

Smart arse brit.

I get around 49mpg mixed driving.

That involves sitting in traffic, caning the living daylights out of it inbetween traffic, late braking, motorway cruising, wheel spinning, too much speedy acceleration, etc. etc.

Yes. It's a Mk2 turbo common rail diesel. 5 speed, 1.8 doink. The bestest mostest cheapest fun I've ever had. :P

As an aside, does anyone know what 49 - UK Imperial - mpg is in US Imperial?

-edit-
Sorry if this was a petrol only thread - oh, and "hello", i'm new :)

A U.S. gallon is 3.78 liters. Isn't an imperial gallon 4.5?
