yeah its an spi. And I figured it by miles traveled divided by gas consumed. It was on a 120mile round trip and my average rpm was around 1500

I didn't realize you could get the milage that high out of an SPI. Thats really nice, especially with todays gas prices. The best I have ever seen out of my zetec is 34 MPG.

I've been getting a bit over 27 mpg on 92 octane. I usually shift around 3500-4000 rpm. My commute is 26 miles at 65-75 mph almost the whole way.

Yay 6th gear!

Good Gas Mileage

My 2005 Focus ST 2.3L Duratec gets 25 to 27 mpg city and 31 mpg hwy (72mph) with the a/c on, and running 87 octane Shell.

I just installed the Steeda short ram intake and suspect it is improving the gas mileage measurably. Another long trip should bear this out.

There is a difference in the brand of gas you use. See:

wow my car has less then 30,000 miles on it, and its bone stock 2004 ZX3 with MTX and i have been getting 30-32 for the last 3 months! and i drive it pretty hard, i shift in the 4-5k rpm range %95 of the time!
and im jsut using cheap costco gas! and some non syn blend oil(i want the rings to seat)

i think its cause im not to hard on the gas, and keep it in its power band whenever i acclerate, then i drop it to ~2k for cruzing (weather that be 35mph or 70mph)

the car was getting 28-29 when we first got it, but i think the engien is just getting done breaking in.

whats crazy still, is there is a hill i drag up every now and again ( foot all the way down!) and the thing still gets 30+ mpg, i really cant complain!

im almost scared to put a difrent intake and exhuast on it :P

My car gets about the same mileage as the sticker showed.

City: 20-22 MPG

Mixture: 25-29 MPG

Highway: 36+ MPG

All are when I drive like I normally do.

My car is a zetec sedan, and while I drive a bit enthusiastically I usually get between 25 - 30 mpg in the city and between 30-37 on the highway. I live about 2500-3000 feet above sea level driving on mountainous roads... ATX

The numbers posted are for worst and best scenarios in city and highway driving.
