yea, chips for 1.8ts are like a good tune for our cars.

I really miss the corrado now. The SVT is way better as a whole, but the vr6 motor is a completely diferent animal compared to the SVT. Theres power everywhere with a worked vr6, upperend, midrange, low end...its all there, at any moment. There really isnt such thing as a wrong gear..especially in Corrado SLCs...the final drive was a little peppier then what came in GTI's.

I have a lot of work to do with the SVT to get it even slightly close to where my Corrado was all motor...pretty much that means a supercharger at this point, lol. its kinda dissapointing not being able to run with S4's and e36 M3's and GT's anymore......no worries though

yea i feel ya man, i drove my vr6 passat the other day and i forgot how much low end grunt those have. I sure do miss that, but yea, my SVT is better as a whole. I had test drove an SLC about 4 months ago, it had a built motor, bored to 2.9, cams, schrick intake manifold, full exhaust, i forget what else, alot tho. guy had a dyno chart, 255 at the wheels, it was a beast but he wanted 7K for it and the body was in pretty bad shape. But damn did that thing haul, wow!........anyways, so update, my friend just got his chip, and holy sh!t, that thing is crazy fast now. i didnt even stand a chance. damn turbos..........

The new 1.8t 02-05 engines push 180/173. I drive an 04 GLI with the 6spd and 180 turbo engine. I raced 2 svt's thus far in the past year and both times I pulled. First car up to 80 was about 1 car. Up to 115 on the other was 2.5 cars. I had a REVO 6 hour trial reflash. Boosts torque 60 and HP by 40. Definetly was a rush. A local GTI driver has a DV, APR chip, intake, exhaust, downpipe, and pushes 13.5's. Which, is good enough for camaros z28's, srt-4,s aother go fast cars.

as far as i know, you cant actually "chip" a focus. You can reflash it which is a very common mod, i have it done and trust me its worth the $$$. Not quite the gains a 1.8t see's but def a difference.

VR6 w/an intake is probably one of my favorite sounds in the world. It still gives me chills.

oh yea^^^ i have one on my passat...but to tell you the truth, i think my CAI on my focus sounds better. But i do miss the amount of low end grunt a VR6, and i also miss being a part of the VW community, some of the friendliest people out there.

i drove my passat down to columbus today to have the heater switch fixed ($310!!!! damn VW's) and that car is great on the highway, put your right foot in it alittle and you are up 10mph so easialy. But I really think my focus w/ CAI and larger TB has a deeper sound to it and picks up better at speed, but man i just love those VR6's. If i had to choose Between a VR or a 1.8t, id take the 1.8t, those sound great w/ an exhaust on them and are so damn easy to get power from.......damn turbos
