Anyone have this issue before?

So I've talked to a couple of friends earlier and they said to be cautious when tuning for an installed header because some tuners will turn off the o2 but won't fully erase it from the ECU. Basically, they show up at inspection with their new tune thinking everything is fine but end up failing because the station's checker sees a disconnected o2 error. Sorry for the vagueness but has anyone experienced this before?

I think the problem they are referring to may be the "not ready" status when the rear O2 is disabled and which fails the system check at start up.

It really just depends on where you live and what they test/look for.

I would consult with your tuner if you go that route. Tom, FSwerks, etc may be able to chime in as well.

That sounds about right, I have Tom's tune right now so I'll ask him what can be done to eliminate that. Last thing I want to worry about is a failed inspection because of the OBDII plug in...

Some people get a readiness code some dont its hard to say but yes you take the chance of getting it , when you get ready for an inspection let me know and I can look over your tune and make sure I have done everything I can to help get yours to pass

Thank you Tom, btw, I'm going to install my fswerks header on the 7th of July so I'm going to need an updated tune. I will email you later with the details and information you need. Thanks again
