Yeah it was TOTALLY worth it.
Just a little trouble to swap the gel pad, but not too big of a pain that I wouldn't do it again.

They look bad ass.
I like the headrests on the back seat too...makes it look nicer.

Well I thought about that.

A couple problems....the stock seat has a reclining lever on the outside of the seat which isn't removable (and is attached to the base/bottom of seat)
The SVT seat has a dial knob for the reclining on the inside of the seat.

Also the stock seat material has hook rings holding it on and also tucks with a rubber groove on the seat pan.
On the SVT seat, it has a string that you pull and is hooked underneath the seat.

The seat pan is different on the SVT too in that it has extra metal rails (on the sides) on the seat pan for the extra bolstering.

It just isn't possible. I think the way I did it was a heck of a lot easier and the best/easiest way.
It really wasn't that much trouble after I figured it all out, and everything was *pretty much* compatible and swapped easily.
Just had to drill a few extra holes.

Doesn't the ST come with those seats already?? (black w/red stitching)

Or is that only if you get the leather option?

Well I guess I should add that I DIDN'T have side airbags in the stock '05 seats.

The sensor in the seat is for the front Passenger airbag.

You could hook up racing seats, but you wouldn't be able to hook up the gel pad/sensor & you would just have the airbag light on your gauge cluster on all the time though.
But I don't know if the airbag would work or work correctly in a crash though.
