WANTED. Was your old ride an srt4?

ok. WEIRD thread. to make a long story short, my boyfriend just bought an srt4 w/ quite a few mods already done to it & we are VERY curious to talk to the old owner. we've heard alot of horror stories from the guys friend & someone who worked on the car before, so we'd like to talk to the old owner, ask him some questions, & possibly trade it in before its too late!!

the reason i am posting this HERE on FF is because supposedly the guy traded in the srt4 to get a...SVT! (aww<3)

SO, is that any of you? or do you know of anyone??

Thanks,
Ashley

p.s. MODS, i apologize in advance if this post is not allowed or in the wrong forum.

This brings back memories... in high school I bought a 1968 Plymouth Satellite 2-door hardtop with a 383 V8 in it. Awesome car, but I quickly discovered the guy who owned it before me had earned himself quite a reputation with that car, and not in a good way. He was famous for tearing it up, not afraid to try anything in that car, famous with the local police (they used to watch me as I drove by for the first few weeks of owning the car!), and famous for having some of his [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]ed buddies do the work under the hood. After buying (after, of course, not before ) I heard all kinds of crazy stories about stuff he did in that car.

Lucky for me it turned out to be an okay car in spite of the abuse. Maybe you'll be that lucky, too?

BTW I'm amazed someone actually traded an SRT-4 for an SVT Focus.

lol reminds me of that 4x4ing SRT video. You can never be sure what the previous owner has done to the car.

I would be suspect to ANY turbo car that was owned by anyone under 30, especially one that has some severe mods but no turbo timer. Fastest way to fry the turbo is to go fast and hard then just shut off the engine w/out cooling it down. Oil will just sit there and bake in the heat, not good for the engine either with mucked up up oil trying to flow through the oil ports of the engine.
I am assuming you bought it from a dealer? If so, ask them if they will contact the previous owner to see if he will talk to you about the car. When I traded in my Jag, the dealer called me the next week to see if I would talk to a perspective buyer, I did, and the guy bought the car.
Good Luck,
Tim

hahaha yeah me too, all I have heard from them is how bad and slow the SVT is. I guess he saw the light of non f/i for a longer life and maybe he was getting burned in the turns.
