My car has a tach on it, a useless gauge for an ATX if you ask me.

This also works for me. Seeing as there's a Tach signal SOMEWHERE, I wonder if I didn't have to buy the Tach Adapter to get the Tach signal for my Tach. Also, it would be nice if Ford added another function button to keep some of the various modes static (obviously not gauge), or maybe another sustained trip button press to save mode.

The "trick" doesn't seem to work on my new '06 ZX4 SES like it did on my '03 ZX5. Can't seem to get the readout past GAGE and the needles only bounce a little instead of pinning to the top end like on the '03. Any others try this with newer Foci with better results?

UPDATE: Figured out what I was doing wrong. The length of time you have to press the reset button to change from one function to the next is longer on the '06 cluster. DUH! So now I notice that the sequence and/or or accessible functions have changed. Anyone have a definitive listing of the various readouts that they can post? Some are still obvious while others are not so distinct. Thanks in advance!

I found a set of gauges that are background grey with the red needles, the guy in the junkyards said I could have it for $75.00 the thing is that it has 50k on it and my car has 101k. The junkyard guy kept insisting that the moment that I change the cluster it will show my real miles, but from reading everyone post here it does not seem to be that way. Would this be a good buy?

well, you'd be off on mileage, which some may say is no big deal (personally, i'm a perfectionist, so...) I believe that is an S2 gauge, not sure though. I wish they had some wrecked S2 around here...i'd love to get some grey gauges. but, i'm not willing to shell out 75 for it...not that big a deal (but i'm not an SPI). bottom line, depends on your personal preference.

Mostly likely I will let it pass, for now, the focus car has become my wife's daily driver and she does not mine not having a tach on it. I guess what worries me some is the difference in mileage when the time comes to sell the car.
