Is the cluster swap an easy job on the '05? Can I use any year cluster? Thanks for that LCD trick.

i'll try this 2morrow... but it seems like the trip computer will be replaced with the tach (which is definatly fine with me... i don't use the trip computer) but as soon as i turnt he car off everything is reset?
any way to permanently make the trip my tach?
that'd be so slick

No, no permanent way but if you want a tach you can swap out the guage cluster with one that has one. Its a direct plug and play setup, its one of the first mods I did.

and yes if you turn off the car it will reset it back to 0.00

Test Mode (holding the trip reset button while starting engine) is also quite handy if you accidentally remove needles when installing a guage face...all you need to know is what your gas was at. It's tricky, but what I did was warm up the car, with my gas light just come on. I put engine temp at middle, and gas just grazing the empty line. The hard part is setting the speedo and tach, cause the car has to be moving obviously, but on a nice straight level road setting needles at 15 mph shouldnt be too hard. Test mode sure is handy!
