Does anyone here have experience with "slip on" rocker panels?

My rockers are pretty rusted out on both sides; after some searching I came across some a pair made by Sherman (SHERMAN Part # 40504L and SHERMAN Part # 40504R). After inquiring with them they indicate that these are "slip on".

I also checked around locally and getting the same solution which brings me to my question:

1. Has anyone here done this with good results?
2. Should any of the rested area be cut away before welding these on or should the rust be treated with something to prevent further deterioration?

Any other relevant information and opinions wanted

I've never seen these used. I've only see the old rockers cut out and new or salvaged ones welded on.

Okay, well I ended up purchasing a pair similar to the ones I provided. I found a shop that will basically cut out the rust and weld these on-top. I'll post pictures ones it's done. Thanks for your reply.
