Firing order

Can someone tell me the firing order on the SPI Screamin Demon coil ?

If it is the same as the Zetec then I am good but I wanted to double check.

Looking at the coil with the ignition connection at the bottom, the how-to on myfordfocus.com (for the Zetec) shows top left (1), bottom left (4), top right (3) and bottom right (2). Hopefully this is the same on the SPI and corresponds to the 1-2-3-4 cylinder order (left to right) on the engine.

Another thing I noticed is it looks like the new coil will have to be installed upside down in order for the ignition connection to reach. Is that normal or do I have freaklishly short wiring ?

Thanks for you help

No idea about Zetec firing order.

The new coil is installed the same, just one plug is located on a different side. The firing order is on the stock coil, so just match it up that way.

It'll fit, done it twice now.

Well, the stock ignition is fine, but these things will help smooth out idle and whatnot. No, no more horsepower.

Also, alot of stock coils, with age, tend to crack. This crack allows entrance to moisture causing faulty firing. Why not upgrade when replacing?

I HAD to get these wires, as the turbo was burning through all other options and these have a heat sleeve. Not necessarily my best option, but definately a step in the right direction.

I just finished the install. After I started I saw what you were talking about Tin. Thanks !

It seems really smooth. I am going to watch the mileage and see what I get but I have only driven 11 miles so far.

Update

After running 3 tanks of gas I have noticed about +3 MPG from the Screamin Demon coil and spark plug upgrade. That increase will pay for these in about 7 months....woo hoo !

(If I can keep my foot off of it that is. I just put on the K&N Typhoon SRI and I like the growl
)
