mine started doing that when I replaced the wiper. The solution I have decided to try but havent tested yet is to trim back the the side of the wiper under the arm. It seems to me that it is hitting the arm which is pushing up on the other side just enough to keep it from wiping correctly.

I have this problem as well. Mine problem also started after replacing the rear blade. I have tried replacing it 4 times now with 4 different blades with the same results. It is annoying. I was thinking of just buying one from Ford as see if that helps. $8 for replacement rear blade from Ford. If it works, I could have saved money in the long run. I would like to know as well if anyone can fix this.

Also make sure you lubricate the joint where the arm pivots... road grime, salt, and everything builds up in there so if its clean and lubricate you should have no problems.
Sometimes the arm needs to be bent to put a little extra pressure on the window to wipe it clean. |

My rear wiper's not as bad as the photo, but it does streak a lot, and leaves areas of non-wiped glass.
Is there anything can be done ? A better brand of wiper blade ? Telflon blades maybe ? Someone suggested streaking is caused by the wax left on the car as a final step in automatic car washes. Is there a solvent that cleans wiper blades effectively without removing the blade's "natural lubricant" ? |
