sun roof question

is it possible to install a svt sunroof onto a non svt that did not previously have a sunroof...reason i ask is because i beleive the svt sunroof rolls into the roof of the car and not above.

You can get your brains blown right if you have the right amount of cash. Just look into some local car shops.

Don't all Foci sunroofs slide into the headliner (basically) rather than above it?

Anyway, like Scott said (sorta) look around and find a GOOD local shop if you want a sunroof put in, that's definitely the kind of thing you don't want to go bargain pricing for, cause you'll end up with a leaky roof right quick!

There was an option from the dealers.... Factory ones go in the headliner. I had one put into my 02 zx5 and it was the slide out type. The dealer threw it in the deal for free... but to have them just install one was 500 bucks...the slide in the headliner one was 900 bucks installed.
You can go to any sunroof place and get either one done to your car... just depends on the amount of $$ you want to dish out...

We do a fair amount of aftermarket sunroofs in our cars at our dealership. I would think you can get a slide-OUT roof in that price range $500-650. An IN-built roof will probably run you $800 - 1000, depending on size, features etc. The shop we use only installs Hollandia/Webasto brand roofs, and I believe the warranty from them for slide-out roofs is 3 or 4 yrs (I may be wrong), but I know the warranty for the in-built roofs is for the lifetime for both workmanship and defects in materials. Spring for the slide-in in my opinion. Well worth the extra money down the road due to the much better warranty. We're talking a huge hole cut into the structure of your car, why gamble you know ?
